UNIT 11: WHAT DO YOU EAT?

Lesson2: A2,3- At the store.

A. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES: 

- To introduce the theme of the unit: What do you eat?

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to ask and answer about quantity; and listen for specific information about quantities for food shoping.

1. Knowledge:

+ Vocabulary: How many, how much, salesgirl, need

+ Grammar:         + How many eggs do you want?

                               + How much beef you want?

2. Skills: Integraded skills

+ Main skill: speaking, listening,  writing

+ Sub skill:    reading 

3. Attitude:

Helps Ss to be eager to take part in activities related to the grammar points in the lesson.

4. Competences: 

- General competences: problem – solving, communication, creation and cooperation

- Specific competences: students will be able to ask and answer about quantity; and listen for specific information about quantities for food shoping.

2. Warm – up: (5’) Brainstorming (write some words for the food and drink on the board ) RECOGNITION ).

- Ss remember the Food and drink that they have learnt and write them on the board .
- T gives feedback and leads to the new lesson.
T- Today we will learn a lesson about identify the list and talk about Food and drink
- 2 Ss make a conversation between a storekeeper and a customer.
- T corrects Ss homework A1
- T gives feedback and gives marks.
3. The new lesson :
I.Presetation: (10’) Activity 1: T presents new words. (Ss can understand and usesome new words- RECOGNITION ).
T presents new words. Ss reads , understand and use 
T uses picture, examples, explains to teach new words.
a. Present the vocabulary by using the picture:
a box of cookies	(picture)
a salesgirl	(picture)

1 kilo = 1000 gams	
- Ss repeat inChorus – groups- individual and copy down the new words.
- checking vocabulary: Rub out and remember (with the key)
- T calls some Ss to write the words on the board. 
-T calls some Ss to get feedback.
-T gets feedback and corrects it.
* Present the dialogues:
- T hangs the picture on the board and asks. Ss to answer some question:
 ? Who is that? (That’s Ba)
 ? Where is he? (He is in the store)
 ? What does he want?
Introduction: This is a customer and a salegirl. They are at store. Ba is buying some food.
Activity 2:(Ss can understand and usenew struture- RECOGNITION ).
b. Model sentences:
I’d like some beef I need / want some eggs
 → How much do you want? → How many do you want?

 + Countable nouns: oranges, apples
 + Uncountable nouns: bread, water, coffee...
Examples:

b. Reading the dialogue and complete the table:

- T read the dialogue again in silent.

Activity 3: (work in pair to ask and answer the questions) (- Low-application).
c. Reading comprehension:
- T asks Ss to open thier book and read again
- Ss work in pair to ask and answer the questions, basing on the words cues.
- Ss write their answer on the board and T – the rest give feedback.

 d) He wants a dozen eggs.
c. Production: (8’)(listen and match the name of the people with the things they want.) (- high-application).

T- today we will learn a lesson aboutunderstanding the content of the dialogue and practice reading it. Then communicate about quantity, compare the usage betwent “How much...?” and “How many...?”
3. The new lesson :
I.Presetation: (10’)(Ss look at the picture and answer the questions) (understanding ).
- T asks Ss to look at the picture and answer the questions:
 a) Who are they? (Nam and His mother)
 b) What does his mother want?
- Ss answer and t introduces the dialogues:
This is Nam and his mom.
 His mother wants him togotothe store to bying somethings 
- Please guess 4 things she needs: 1) 2) 3) 4) 
{ Ordering:
- T gives some sentences. Ss work in pairs to arrange them
 to make a dialogue.
How much rice do you want?
Hafl a dozen, please.
How many oranges, Mom?
Two kilos – And I need hafl a kilo of beef and some oranges.
Yes, Mom – What do you need?
A bottle of cooking oil and some rice
Can you go to the store for me?	
b. Practice:	(20’) Activity 1: (listen to the dialogues and check the ordering sentences) (- Low-application).
* Listen and check:
- Ss listen to the dialogues carefully (twice).
- Ss check the ordering sentences. T gives feedback and key.

- Ss practice reading the dialogue in pair in silent and check 4 things what his mom want:
- T gives feedback and correct answer:
