UNIT 14: MAKING PLANS (CONT’)

Lesson 6:  C- Suggestions (C 1,2, 3)

I. Aims and objectives:

  1. Educational aims: 

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to make suggestions with “Let’s…. !”, “Why don’t we + V(-inf)…?”, “What about + V-ing …?”. And respond; furher practice in “ want to do…”

*Language items:

- Vocabulary: pagoda (n), minibus (n), Let’s, too far, (to) want to do (review)

- Grammar: Let’s …!, “Why don’t we + V(-inf)…?”, “What about + V-ing …?”, (to) want to + inf …

2. Skills: Integrated skills: Main skills: reading, listening

                                             Sub-skills: writing, speaking

   3. Attitute: Students take part in activities and tasks in class, hard working.

4. Orientation of competence development:

- General competence: self-study, communicative and cooperative competences.

- Specific competence: making suggestions with “Let’s…. !”, “Why don’t we + V(-inf)…?”, “What about + V-ing …?”.

	A. Warm – up: 
* Aims: To check old lesson and lead in new lesson.
* Result: Ss remember old lesson and pay attention to new lesson.

* Aims: Help Ss know more vocabulary and understand the dialogue.
* Result: Ss remember vocabulary and know how to make suggestions.
	1. Pre – teach vocabulary: (RECOGNITION)

2. Pre – questions: (RECOGNITION) 
a. Where are they going to go?
b. How are they going to travel?
	3. Presentation the text: (C3/P.147) (RECOGNITION) 
	* Answers:

	b.They’re going to travel by minibus
	4. Comprehension questions: (a g g/P.148) (UNDERSTANDING)
	- Ss work in pairs to ask and answer
	- T monitors and corrects
	* Answers: 
	a. Nam want to go to Hue.
	b. Nga wants to go to Huong pagoda.
	c. Lan wants to walk.
	d. Because it’s too far.
	e. He wants to travel by bike.
	f. Because it’s too hot.

	5. Model sentences: (RECOGNITION)

 * Form: Suggestions:

C. Practice:
* Aims: Help Ss practise making suggestions.
* Result: Ss will be able to make suggestions - LOW –APPLICATION.
	Picture drill: (C3: a g f / P.148 – 149) with Word Cue:	
Example...nt, adverbs of frequency, present progressive, “going to” future and the weather vocabulary.
*Language items:
- Vocabulary: weather vocabulary
- Grammar: Simple present, adverbs of frequency, present progressive,“going to” future.

 - Ss do it individually then hand in.
Example: Planning a holiday
I’m going to go to Sapa with my friends, Mai and Lan. We’re going to go in the Spring. It’s cool then, but we like cool weather. We’re going to bring warm clothes with us and I’m going to bring my camera. We’re going to travel by train. In Sapa, we’re going to walk in the mountains and We’re going to go fishing. I’m going to take some photos. We’re going to stay in a hotel for three days.
C. Consolidation:	
* Aims: Help Ss practise speaking about their plans.
* Result: Ss will be able to make their plans - HIGH –APPLICATION.
Asking and answering
Example exchange:
S1: Where are you going to go?
S2: I’m going to going to go Ha Long Bay
