Lesson 4: B – Free time 4, 5
I. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
+ Use free time vocabulary.
+ Listen and match the names with the pictures of free time activities.
+ Ask and answer about frequency of activities.
+ Self – assess to see what they need to improve.
1. Knowledge:
- VOCABULARY: How often? Once, twice, three times
- GRAMMAR: Present simple tense
2. Skills: Integrated skills
+ Main skills: Listening, speaking.
+ Sub skills: Reading, writing
3. Attitude:Educate Ss how to lovefrequency activities.
4. Orientation competence development:
- General competences: Problem - solving, communication, creation and cooperation.
- Specific competences: Ask and answer the questions about frequency of activities.
II. TEACHING AIDS: Textbook, pictures, cassette player, sub - boards.
III. PROCEDURES:
1. Check-up (to check Ss’ old knowledge about what the do in their free time –UNDERSTANDING)
- Make question: Which sports do you play?
- Call some Ss to answer the question.
- Ss give their answers.
- Other Ss remarks.
- T remarks and gives marks.

B5/ 128 - Asks Ss to open their book, listen and read the dialogue. - In pairs Ss practice the dialogue. - Calls on some pairs to play the dialogue before class. - Give feedback. *Model sentences. - Elicit the model sentences by asking Ss to make questions and answers in English. - Have the answers. - Write them down. How often does she listen to music? She listens to music twice a week. . How often do you go to school? I go to school six times a week. - Ask Ss to give form. Form: How often + do/ does + S + V + ...... ? S + V-s,es .... once / twice ... a week/month... - Explain the usage of the form. Usage: Ask and answer about frequency of activities. - Have Ss copy down the model sentences. - Repeat the model chorally. 4. Listen and match the names with the right pictures (to see how Ss understand the new language which they have just received – UNDERSTANDING) 7’ - Ask Ss to look at the pictures B.4 and call the name of the things before listening. - Listen and match the names with the write pictures. - Get feedback. a.
